Most of you can probably guess what this post is about. Yesterday, I put my fingers to the keys one final time, and wrote the last line of Fireteam Freelance.
That’s right. The whole thing is now complete. All episodes.
Do I have thoughts on it? Oh yes. I’ve noted from the beginning that an episodic story like this was definitely an experiment. I won’t say what those thoughts are at this juncture, because you readers haven’t finished the story, and I don’t want to inadvertently color your expectations. Though I will say some of the episodes coming up have some of my favorite scenes I worked on through this series, and I don’t feel at all that my time was misspent.
Naturally, of course, this means that there will be another episode this Saturday. Episode 9, Apatos, will be live at 8 AM mountain time, and after the events of the last episode, you absolutely will not want to miss it.
So then, now that Fireteam Freelance, at least on my end, is mostly done, what next? I’m glad you asked! My next project will be getting Axtara – Banking and Finance through pre-Alpha so that it can be moved into … Alpha Reader Status!
I’m excited about this one. Axtara was a lot of fun to work on, and I’ve heard a lot of commentary from readers—especially those who read A Game of Stakes—looking forward to getting their hands on a full-length novel in the same universe. So these next few days will be, for me, full of pre-Alpha editing work as I plow through Axtara and get it ready for the Alpha Readers.
Which is a definite heads-up to all you Alpha Readers out there that Axtara is coming! I’m going to start on the pre-Alpha this week and see what results! So prepare and check your schedules if you’d like to be an Alpha Reader for Axtara, because it’s at last on its way!
Meanwhile, once Axtara goes into editing, I’ll be starting the big one. That’s right, once the Alpha Readers have their hands on Axtara, I’ll be doing pre-work on the third and final book in the UNSEC Space trilogy: Starforge.
Yep, at long last I’ll be starting this one. It’s been a long time coming, and I am well aware how many of you Jungle readers cannot wait to see how the events of the last two books all pan out. Obviously I’m not going to spoil anything, but I will say that this finale is going to be a grand.
Now, onto other, more minor news: If you have a Facebook account, you may have noticed a new ad in your feed recently, one with a very familiar cover. That’s right, Colony ads have been making the rounds on Facebook,
More to the point, they’ve been a lot more successful at selling copies than Amazon advertising (which has continually dropped in effectiveness over the past two years). So there will be more of them in the future. If you see one, don’t be afraid to give it a like or a share!
