So, you readers may have noticed that there was not anything new for Fireteam Freelance this last week.

It was by choice. It was an off week, by which I mean there was an episode the prior week (Episode 7 – Missing Persons) and these episodes have come out every other week. Which does mean that yes, episode 8 (Last One Out) drops this Saturday.

So yes. Set your alarms and mark your calendars! Episode 8 of Fireteam Freelance arrives this Saturday, and it’s one you won’t want to miss.

But yeah, last week there was no bonus content. That doesn’t mean it’s done, not yet. But there was a good reason for the break. After this Saturday’s climactic episode, there will be another bit of in-between content in the week following.

After that? Well, I’m not sure. About bonus content, I mean. Hit the jump for more.

Let me explain. I’m currently near the middle of the finale episode of the series. Episode 12. And trust me when I say if you like action this episode is going to be awesome. It’s pretty much non-stop once it starts, and with … Well, I’m getting ahead of myself.

What’s this mean for the rest of the series? Well, the episodes are already written, of course! You’re getting episode 8 this weekend, then 9 the weekend after the next, then 10 …

Basically, Fireteam Freelance is almost done. But with my work on the ending and the final episodes, there hasn’t been much time for extra work for those in-between bonuses (many of which were pulled from pre-created content).

Now, this doesn’t mean that there won’t be any. I’ve already looked back and thought “Hey, I might be able to slip a scene in there” for something that would work for the bonus content, but not for an episode. Something I can write after I finish off the series as a whole. Which, as I’ve said, is almost done.

But that’s not a guarantee. The only thing that is at this point is the episodes, all the way to the end of the series.

Which, at the schedule so far, will be in August. So yeah, I’m almost done writing this, and you guys are almost done reading it. At which point I’ll do some final thoughts on this experiment and should be in the middle of getting Axtara ready for publication.

Anyway, I refuse to spoil anything about the coming episodes, but those of you that have read episode 7 have probably already begun crafting theories. Trust me, you’ll want to be here Saturday when Last One Out goes live.
