Welcome to 2019. Be on the lookout for Replicants.
2018 is behind us. And what a year. It had a lot of highs, and it had some rough lows too. And I’m not just talking about the year globally. I’m just talking about books and stuff.
But enough about that. Let’s talk about the future. So, what’s coming ahead in 2019?
Well, first up, and early in the year, the release of Hunter/Hunted. It’s in the final act now, though just barely (I haven’t done much writing over the last week; I needed to recharge). I figure this one will be done with the draft this month, as long as my other job doesn’t consume too much time, and then it can go into Alpha/Beta and release. Rejoice, Dusk Guard fans, for the third book is almost here. Oh, and remember how I said it would probably be the shortest? I have no idea anymore. And … well, I’ll leave it at that.
After that, I need to do a sample set of chapters for a Halo novel to see if that publisher is interested in adding another one into their release schedule. Now, I’m not sure how this will shake out. If they accept them, I’ve got a new project I need to work on. While waiting for the acceptance/rejection, however, I’ll be working on the next project, which is …
Jungle and Fireteam Freelance. Yeah, it’s time. Editing work on Jungle will start this year, as well as the writing and posting of Fireteam Freelance (an episodic tie-in that takes place on Earth). Which, depending on my schedule, will probably end up rounding out the year for big projects (and also meaning we’d see Jungle as a fall release). But if all that gets done?
Starforge, the third and final book to Jake, Anna, and Sweets’ story started in Colony. And that’s all I’ll say about it at this time.
Outside of writing, what’s coming down the road? Well, I didn’t manage to hit 100 Goodreads ratings by New Year’s Day, but at the same time … I’ll bet I can manage 200 this year. Ideally, I’d like to double my review and sales numbers.
Outside of that? Well, I’m pretty sure just pursuing those will keep me busy enough.
Happy New Year, folks. Time for me to get back to work.
